

perhaps OP, but could be balanced by not coming with a companion perk in the way dogmeat does. I don't know about you, but having your spouse as a potential companion right out of the vault sounds pretty awesome.

As an RP option however it would be excellent, a pair of vengeful parents chasing down their child's abductor, while facing a challenging new world as a team, rather than alone. Why? You'd still be determined to recover your child, so it wouldn't impact upon the rest of the main story, with exception to the voiced dialogue about losing your family (like conversing with shawn). but I wish it was an option to perhaps distract Kellog when he goes to shoot your bae, or something else that keeps Nate/Nora around for when you wake up. Not a requirement by any means, since losing them opens the player up to new romance.

Starting new characters over and over makes me wish keeping your spouse alive was an option, as it is whether you keep synth kid shawn or not.
